German Red Cross - Local Association Middle and Small Wiesental
Tested profileIn 1933 the Ortsverein Maulburg was founded. Exactly 77 years later it still exists, but is now called Ortsverein Maulburg-Kleines Wiesental. As newsletter reported in detail, the two local associations Maulburg and Kleines Wiesental merged. In 2026, the municipality of Steinen is added to the sphere of activity of the local association. Thus it is now called Ortsverein Mittleres- und Kleines Wiesental.
The centre of this local association is the decorated Rotkreuzhaus on the outskirts of the municipality of Maulburg in the immediate vicinity of the volunteer fire brigade and the workshop. It was inaugurated in May 2006 after exactly one year of construction. The volunteers have provided 14,500 hours of own work in order to be able to put the important project of the association into practice. Today, the active people have a very successful domicile. A large conference room with kitchen, a hall on the upper floor, next to it a room for the Youth Red Cross and an office for the board and the standby management. Five vehicles have space in the spacious garage with three gates. The local association rents its rooms for seminars, family celebrations and other occasions. The proceeds partially offset the costs incurred by such a property. The main tasks of the activists of the Ortsverein Maulburg-Kleines Wiesental include
the multiple medical services in and around Maulburg and in the municipality of Kleines Wiesental
Participation in civil protection as a service provider with the group "Technology & Safety"
carrying out blood donation operations
youth work.
The 770 supporting members can be proud to belong to such a committed local association. But they deserve thanks and recognition for the support of the German Red Cross.
As they say so aptly: "The DRC local association Maulburg-Kleines Wiesental has a good RUF!"
