The Digital Health and Social Compass shows tested and reliable information on health, care and social services in the district of Lörrach. Healing practitioners are not currently accepted because there are no uniform rules for education and quality. We want to ensure that only offers are shown that are scientifically proven and well verifiable – as on the federal health portal (gesund.bund.de). Therefore, the compass only shows offers whose quality is clearly proven. Doctors with recognized additional training, such as natural healing procedures, are included in the compass. A later admission of health practitioners is possible if there are clear, verifiable criteria for this.
Thus, the platform GesundSozial.digital even better, the project is regularly evaluated and further developed. The goal is to find out how well the platform works and what can be improved – from the point of view of the people who use it.
There was already a large online survey that ended on June 23, 2025. More than 500 people from the district of Lörrach participated – thank you for that! The next evaluation is planned for spring 2026. All feedback helps to adapt the platform even better to the needs of citizens.
Particular attention will be paid to promoting the digital participation of older people and those with limited knowledge of technology. The team of Gesund Sozial.digital is therefore part of the project group “Promoting the digital health and care competence of senior citizens and caregivers” of the municipal care conference. In this context, the Digital Health and Social Compass is specifically linked to offers from the Senior Academy and the Diakonische Werk. Digital consultation hours and supplementary on-site offers make it easier for these target groups to access the platform. The project group of the Municipal Care Conference is accompanied by experts from the fields of age, care and digitalization. For this exemplary commitment, she has already been awarded the prize “Kommunal.Digital.Genial” by the Federal Association of Senior Citizens’ Organizations (BAGSO). This award honors innovative municipal solutions that strengthen the digital participation of older people and contribute to the sustainable improvement of public services.
HealthySocial.digital is a project of District of Lörrach.
The project will be funded by the Fritz Berger Foundation until 2027.The foundation aims to support elderly and disabled people in the city and district of Lörrach.
In the start phase, the project is also funded by the AOK Hochrhein-Bodensee and the municipal care conference of the county. For further development, it is planned to include other partners, such as other health insurance companies or municipalities. The Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg (DHBW) Lörrach supports the project scientifically – for example during the evaluation.
All citizens can support the project, for example by participating in surveys and giving feeback. This helps to further develop the platform and adapt it so that it fits well to the needs of the people.
Health and social professionals can also help. You can enter your offers on the platform and make sure that the information is up to date and helpful. They can also recommend the compass – for example, in conversations with colleagues, colleagues or counsel-seekers. Thus the platform becomes known and can be used by more people.
The Digital Health and Social Compass is aimed at all people in the district of Lörrach – regardless of age, origin or technical experience.
The platform is particularly helpful for people who are more difficult to find appropriate information or support in everyday life – for example because of reduced mobility, age, mental or physical illness, linguistic hurdles or because they need support in orientation in the health system.

The Health and Social Compass only lists offers and providers whose qualifications, competence and quality standards are transparent and verifiable. The background is that the term “coaching” is not protected and there are no federally regulated training, admission or quality standards that allow an objective and comparable examination of the professional qualification.
In addition, there are often overlaps in terms of content on health or psychosocial issues, in which a clear definition of medical or recognised counselling is required.
In order to avoid misinterpretations, coaching providers and offers are currently listed in the health and social compass only after accurate examination (evaluation of quality, effectiveness and professional classification). A future recording is in principle conceivable if there are clear and verifiable criteria.
Medical and social care is becoming increasingly complicated. In addition, not all people have the same opportunities to get help. This is why there is the compass: it is intended to make health and social services more visible, easier and more accessible to everyone – especially now that there are fewer professionals and more and more people need support.
The Digital Health and Social Compass is an online platform of the Lörrach district. It helps you find health and social services in your area quickly and easily – for example, doctors, counselling centres, nursing services or help services.
The platform is designed to provide transparent and easily accessible support – especially when you don’t know where to turn. In this way, it helps you to be better informed and safer in health and social matters.
An important objective is also the Promoting health competence: The compass shows where you can find help – but also how you can take care of your health. The platform means „HealthySocial.digital“ – this is also the Internet address.
The data is constantly maintained and regularly updated. Institutions can enter their offers themselves and report changes.
All requests from press, politics and the public should be sent to the project management
