German Red Cross - Local Association Wollbach

The local association Wollbach of the German Red Cross is located on the district of Kandern. It was founded in 1973, when Wollbach was still an independent community. There are now two DRC local associations in the city of Kandern: Kandern and Wollbach. Kandern belongs to the DRC district association Müllheim, because the DRC has not comprehended the district and municipal reform.

The local association has its domicile in the town hall in Wollbach. A large room serves the readiness for meetings, meetings and training events. In addition, there are two garages for the local association’s own equipment truck and the group vehicle for civil protection.

The readiness currently consists of 9 helpers, 13 helpers and an on-call doctor. Dias engagement of the active people is very high with about 4,000 service hours (as of 2019) in the year. There are also meetings, business evenings and activities at the district level.

A local helper group was set up in 2013, which currently comprises five members and is alerted annually to about 200 missions. Since 2022, there is a background service house emergency call, which currently has 10 members and also carries out about 10 missions there every year.

Every Thursday, except during school holidays, the weekly service evening is carried out from 20:00 to 22:00 with subsequent camaraderie care.

For the first time, the DRC Local Association Wollbach in Rümmingen carried out a blood donation campaign in 2009, which could rightly be described as successful with a large amount of donations. Since then, this campaign has been carried out twice a year, in the first half of the year in Wollbach and in the second half of the year in Rümmingen.

Education is very important at the local association Wollbach. With Gretel Dietz, there is an instructor for the special course "First aid on the child". Janina Abt, Hakon Abt and Ralf Hafner are instructors in the field of first aid and Martin Winkler undertakes district-wide instruction in the field of driving with special and right of way.

6 times a year, a waste paper collection is carried out for the municipalities of Rümmingen, Schallbach and Wittlingen, as well as for the districts of Wollbach, Hammerstein and Holzen.

2 times a year, a large barbecue action is organized and carried out at the Hornbachmarkt in Binzen, which is always a well-visited and now permanently integrated size.

The DRK Ortsverein Wollbach is a very family local association, which includes all ages from 16 years to 83 years. 3 founding members are still active, which is very nice and stands for a good camaraderie.
