Council of the County of Lörrach

Representation of interests for older people in the district of Lörrach.
Formed on the initiative of the Landesseniorenrat in meanwhile 40 municipalities and districts of Baden-Württemberg - including in the district of Lörrach - the district councils have the task of taking up the problems and concerns of the older generation in the municipalities and districts and working together with the municipal and state authorities on their solution.
The District Senior Council is composed of representatives of the old people’s clubs and old people’s meeting places as well as other associations of older people, representatives of the home advisory councils and the organisations active in the area of open elderly care in the municipality and rural district. The District Senior Council participates, for example, in the preparation and updating of the Participation Plan IV (Seniors), in the design of public institutions suitable for the elderly and the disabled, etc.
In the social committee of the district council, he is heard on all old political questions. In addition, as a member of the Land Senior Council, he has the opportunity to present the matters of interest in the district nationwide, discuss them with other district senior councils and implement them in initiatives.
