The subject area of basic security is responsible for living security benefits according to the Social Code Twelfth Book (SGB XII). This includes the basic pension in old age and in the case of disability after the 4. Chapter SGB XII as well as support for living under Chapter 3 SGB XII.

The aim of the benefits is to secure the necessary livelihood for people who cannot meet their needs from their own income and assets. In addition, the subject area processes applications for the assumption of funeral costs within the framework of the legal requirements.
