The everyday life with neurodivergent children is often enriching, but also challenging. Between school organization, family life and social expectations, parents easily reach their limits.

This workshop is about better understanding the behaviour and needs of neurodivergent children, developing strategies for more serenity in family life, strengthening the relationship with the child and promoting a constructive exchange with teachers and professionals.

Objectives of the workshop:

• Developing a greater understanding of neurodivergent perception and behaviour

• Get to know practical strategies for a more relaxed family life

• Improve communication with school and environment

• Experiencing oneself as parents strengthened and able to act

These workshops are a real heart project. I am a mother of two neurodivergent children and was able to experience for myself how helpless and turned on you feel as a parent when you encounter the school system. Many children and parents experience that inclusion only succeeds if there is a diagnosis. This is problematic: it pathologizes diversity and forces families into a medical system just for support and acceptance. Inclusion without a disease label means taking children seriously in their diversity. We need knowledge, openness and flexibility. I look forward to accompanying parents on their way to greater understanding, serenity and strength – for a more harmonious coexistence in family and school.
