We speakEnglish

The project: “Healthy and digital on site”: Digital health education where people need it – visiting, close to everyday life and sustainable.

The Adult Education Association of Baden-Württemberg (Koordinatior) is working together with the Catholic University of Freiburg, the State Institute for Communication Baden-Württemberg (LFK) and the local adult education institutions to strengthen citizens in their digital health skills and promote the social participation of older people. The aim is to establish and maintain low-threshold educational offerings (e.g. online lectures) that help older people to better understand and independently use digital developments in the healthcare sector – e.g. the e-prescription, the electronic patient record or video talk lessons as well as the training of multipliers.

Target group: The lecture series is aimed at interested citizens. The aim is to provide low-threshold information on health-related topics and to raise awareness.

Topics: Everything about the digitalized health world

Format: online impulse presentations with moderated discussion and audience questions

Scope: Ten monthly events (from January 2026)

Duration: 18:00 – approx. 19:30 (about 1.5 hours)

Webinar: Sensitive data, strong responsibility – data protection in the age of e-files and e-prescriptions

Presenter: Bianca Kastl, Chaos Computer Club

With the electronic patient file and the e-prescription, health data is digitally recorded, stored and transmitted – a big step towards modern care. At the same time, the responsibility to securely protect sensitive information is growing. How can data protection in the healthcare sector be implemented in practice without slowing down digital progress?

Bianca Kastl from the Chaos Computer Club provides an understandable insight into the opportunities and risks of digitalization in the health sector. It shows what patients should pay attention to, how security succeeds in everyday life and why data protection is not an obstacle, but a central building block for trust in the digital health future.
