Dementia – (k)a question of age
September 21 was World Alzheimer's Day. Under this year’s motto “Demenz – (k)a question of age”, the German Alzheimer Society draws attention to the fact that dementia does not only affect older people. Younger people can also get sick. At the same time, relatives, friends and people from the personal environment are often confronted with the topic over many generations.
World Alzheimer’s Day will take place from 21 to 27. September is the nationwide week of dementia. It is intended to strengthen understanding for people with dementia and their relatives, to inform about the disease and to draw attention to support options.
Events until the end of October
Also in the district of Lörrach there is again this year a diverse event program. The network Dementia in the district of Lörrach together with its cooperation partners organizes the Dementia Weeks 2026 from 21 September to 29 October.
The events offer an opportunity to deal with the topic of dementia, to learn more about everyday life with the disease and to talk to each other. They are aimed at people with dementia, relatives, professionals and anyone interested.
