Sick? Telemedicine platform docdirekt helps!!
With docdirekt, the Kassenärztliche Vereinigung Baden-Württemberg (KVBW) has launched a digital care platform that enables patients to obtain a well-founded initial medical assessment around the clock.
Medical rock estimate – when, where and how?
Many people face the question in case of illness:
Can I wait or should I use medical assistance?
This is where docdirekt comes in: Through the online platform, users can receive an initial medical estimate at any time – regardless of opening hours and without long waiting times.
If a medical consultation is recommended as part of the assessment, a video consultation with a doctor can be carried out directly. docdirekt thus complements the existing patient service 116117 with a digital offer.
How docdirekt works
Access to docdirekt begins with the entry of the postcode. Subsequently, the complaints are queried via a structured medical initial estimate procedure (SmED – Structured medical initial estimate in Germany).
On this basis, users receive an assessment,
whether medical treatment is required,
how urgent this is,
and which way of supply seems appropriate (e.g. medical care, medical assistance or video-telephony).
If necessary, direct forwarding takes place to a telemedical consultation with established doctors from Baden-Württemberg. The use is possible both on the computer and on mobile devices.
Low-swelling access – digital and telephone
docdirekt is open to all people who are in Baden-Württemberg. Anyone who does not want or cannot use digital access will continue to receive support via the nationwide telephone number 116117. However, digital use enables a particularly fast initial estimate and – if indicated – a direct medical consultation by video. The aim is to support patients in a targeted manner and at the same time to relieve outpatient structures and emergency photos.
Costs and billing
The medical initial estimate via docdirekt is free of charge and without registration possible. For those insured by law, the health insurance companies cover the costs of a subsequent video consultation. Privately insured persons receive a billing in accordance with the applicable regulations.
