Discover cool places in the city of Lörrach
With the increasingly hot summers, protection against heat is becoming increasingly important. High temperatures can put a lot of stress on the body – especially the elderly, children, pregnant women and people with pre-existing conditions.
To support citizens and guests on hot days, the city of Lörrach now has the new offer ‘Cool places’ published. The heart of a interactive map, where various places can be found in the urban area that allow cooling and recreation.
What does the map show?
On the interactive map you will find different places in Lörrach where you can find cooling on hot days:
💧 Drinking water wells – fill up drinking water free of charge, e.g. at the Old Market Square and in the Leverage Park.
🌫️ Fog Showers – Refreshment is provided by the Fog Showers at Senser Platz and in Turmstraße.
🌳 Parks and green areas – shady places like Rosenfelspark, Hebelpark or Grüttpark invite you to stay.
⛲ Fountain facilities – around 80 public fountains provide a more pleasant microclimate in the urban area. Especially the water feature in the Hebelpark offers a welcome refreshment on hot days.
⛪ Open churches – several churches deliberately open their doors as cool and quiet retreats, including the Ottilienkirche Tüllingen, the Evangelical Church Rötteln, the Nikolauskirche Hauingen and the Catholic churches St. Bonifatius, St. Fridolin and St. Josef Brombach.
🏛️ Burghof Lörrach – also the foyer of the Burghof invites you to stay during the opening hours of the house of cards.
The overview should help to quickly find a suitable cool place nearby. At the same time, the map is continuously expanded. Further cool places can be reported to the city of Lörrach and will complement the offer in the future.
