Citizens' Survey Report

Citizens' Survey Report

3.11.2025

Before the platform GesundSozial.digital on 28 March On 1 June 2025, citizens of the Lörrach district were able to contribute their expectations and needs. Between 23 April and 23 April In June 2025, 543 people participated in the first citizens' survey. The aim was to learn more about the use of digital information, the most important health topics and the assessment of one’s own health competence – as a basis for the further development of the platform.

High readiness and great curiosity

The results show: GesundSozial.digital is of great interest to the participants of the survey.

  • 82% would like to use the platform in future.

  • 33% knew the project before the start.

  • 49% are looking for health information with your smartphone.

The Internet is thus the most important source of information – followed by doctors and the personal environment.

Important topics: disease, prevention, care

Information on disease and treatment (27 %), health and prevention (24 %) and care and support (13 %) are most sought.

The survey also shows that many people understand health information in principle well, but have difficulties in assessing their reliability (73 %) or the urgency of health problems correctly (49 %).

Mental health remains challenge

Particularly noticeable: 68% of the participants find only hard-to-match aids in mental problems. This point has also been frequently mentioned in the open feedback – along with long waiting times, missing specialist doctors and the desire for low-swelling consultancy in the county.

Scientific support

Accompanying the survey, a bachelor thesis by a student of the Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg (DHBW) Lörrach examined how older people GesundSozial.digital use. The results show that many have basic digital skills, but still face hurdles, especially in the evaluation of health information and accessibility. At the same time, the work confirms that the platform significantly facilitates access to health and social services for older people.

Voices from the population

Many respondents wish:

  • a clear, easy to understand and barrier-free platform,

  • printed information materials for people without internet access,

  • and more personal contact points in health and social affairs.

Quotes such as “Please urgently remember to write everything in simple language” or “A printed compass for emergencies would be a valuable support” illustrate the desire for comprehensibility and accessibility.

Outlook: Next survey 2026

The results of the baseline survey flow directly into the further development of GesundSozial.digital one. In the second quarter of 2026, a further citizens' survey is planned to evaluate use, effectiveness and potential for improvement and to compare the results with the first survey.
