Celebrating Go Live: The digital health and social compass “GesundSozial.digital” has started

8.7.2025

On Saturday, 28. June, became the digital health and social compass “HealthySocial.digital“ officially unlocked for the county of Lörrach. The solemn live circuit took place during the joint plenary sessions of the local nursing conference and the local health conference.

The new platform provides a structured overview of regional offers in the areas of health, care and social care. Users can find information as well as suitable assistance and support offers centrally, reliable and accessible.

„GesundSozial.digital is an important milestone for digital services of general interest in the district of Lörrach, emphasized district councillor Marion Dammann. “The compass helps to make health and social services visible on site and enables citizens to make informed decisions independently.”

The great interest was already clear in an online survey as part of the accompanying evaluation: 544 people participated – a clear signal for the need for digital orientation in the health and social sectors.

Creation and implementation

The platform is the result of multi-year, multi-disciplinary cooperation. The project “Gesund im Landkreis Lörrach – which was funded by the state of Baden-Württemberg was the basis for the future” (2022–2024). In addition, experience gained from the German model project Smarte.Land.Regions in which the county has already successfully established digital services – such as mental health.

Has been implemented GesundSozial.digital under the auspices of the Municipal Health Conference in close cooperation with the Municipal Care Conference, the Diakonie and the Seniorenakademie. The Fritz Berger Foundation is funding the project until the end of 2027, and AOK Hochrhein-Bodensee is providing additional support.

Further development until the end of 2025

With user-friendly and low-accessibility navigation, Gesund Sozial.digital offers a provider search, a calendar of offers, a regional map view and initial health and social information. By the end of 2025, the platform will be gradually expanded – among other things, an AI-supported health assistant, telemedicine integrations, a job board for the health and social services as well as new networking functions are planned.

Strengthening health competence and participation

A central concern is the strengthening of digital health literacy – especially for older people and people with little knowledge of technology. The team of Gesund Sozial.digital is therefore part of the project group “Promoting the digital health and care competence of senior citizens and caregivers” of the municipal care conference. In this context, the digital health and social compass is specifically linked to offers from the Seniorenakademie and the Diakonische Werk. Digital consultation hours and supplementary on-site offers make it easier for these target groups to access the platform. For this exemplary commitment, the project group has already been awarded the prize “Kommunal.Digital.Genial” by the Federal Association of Senior Citizens’ Organizations.

In addition to German, Gesund Sozial.digital is available in six other languages – English, French, Italian, Turkish, Arabic and Ukrainian – and also provides information in easy language. Offers can be marked with accessibility features, such as a wheelchair accessible access or an elevator in the building.

“The health and social compass is a modern tool for public health and at the same time an example of innovative digital administration,” summarized the project management, Oli Lou Kramer, at the local health conference. “Our goal is to promote health competence in the county and to network the regional health and social landscape in a sustainable manner – for greater transparency and participation, as well as to make regional care sustainable. ‘

Isabell Dörflinger, responsible for the health content of the new online platform, adds:GesundSozial.digital cannot remedy the existing shortage of skilled workers – but we can provide guidance. The platform helps people to navigate the complex supply system
