Prevention price for ‘Active House Visits’
The joy was great when the Baden-Württemberg Minister for Social Affairs, Health and Integration Manne Lucha awarded the Prevention Prize to representatives of the project group “Enlarge and network active house visits” from the Lörrach district in Stuttgart. In addition to the award, the project receives a prize of 5,000 euros. The money flows into the further expansion of the offer with voluntary movement patents.
The Prevention Prize of the Foundation for Health Prevention is an initiative to strengthen awareness of a healthy and moving life. This year, almost 100 applications were received. The jury convinced the holistic approach of the project group, which not only brings the benefiters, but also the volunteers in motion and at the same time promotes mental activation and counters loneliness.
Since 2019, the Kirchliche Sozialstation southern Markgräflerland e.V. offers active house visits. In the meantime, the concept of a project group of the local nursing conference, together with the health conference and partners from nursing and health, has been expanded and more closely linked. The participants regularly visit volunteers at home. They show simple exercises for body and mind and thus promote mobility, self-employment and quality of life. 20 house visits are planned. Currently, about 60 movement patents are active in the district of Lörrach. The Belchen Institute carries out the training.
The project group behind the offer was commissioned in 2022 by the Plenary of the Municipal Care Conference Landkreis Lörrach to develop the concept. Experts from the fields of seniors, nursing and volunteering accompany the work.
In June 2025, the municipal care conference recommended that the project be permanently secured. For this purpose, the 2026/2027 annual budget is intended to cover EUR 22,000. The office of the municipal nursing conference and the project group members Kirchliche Sozialstation southern Markgräflerland e.V., Diakonisches Werk im Landkreis Lörrach and ipunkt of the Fritz-Berger Foundation are working intensively on a long-term anchoring.
“The award of the prevention price is a strong signal. It shows that we are on the right track with the aim of praying for the active house visits – together with municipalities, health insurance companies and cooperation partners. I wish the project group a lot of success for the next steps,” said Landrätin Marion Dammann.
